The origins of ‘Abracadabra’
It is probably the most common magic word, but it actually has no defined meaning: it was used as a magical and evocative word for the esoteric value that popular tradition attributed to it.
In the past, the word was considered a powerful spell to use in case of fever or infection. The oldest source that mentions the word abracadabra is the Liber Medicinalis – also known as De Medicina Praecepta Saluberrima – by Quintus Serenus Sammonicus, a physician at the court of Roman emperor Caracalla in the third century AD. We know that Sammonicus prescribed that the emperor always took with him an amulet containing the word written as an upside-down triangle.
A Spell for Binding or Banishing a Person from your life
If you have someone in your life that you want gone and who's power over you, you want limited and weakened many people do what's referred as a binding spell, we even sale a "B'tch be gone spell" here on the Thoth website.
A very popular modern way of banishing something or someone from your life is to use, not so much the words "Abracadabra" but the diminishing triangle itself to weaken someone's hold on yourself.
What you need to do is write the persons name on a piece of paper and each day rewrite the name underneath the previous, removing one letter from the name and say out-loud with authority, "Your hold on me insert name here is weakening and you will soon be gone. I feel you becoming weaker and weaker and being pulled further and further away from me."
Another form of this spell is simply to write the name down, again on a piece of paper but just to scratch out or cross out a letter of the persons name each day saying aloud a mantra to yourself such as "I banish you insert name here, I banish you from my life and your hold on me is weakening"
Remember once you have finished the spell don't leave the paper hanging around the house, go put it somewhere nasty, like the toilet after you have done a poo or a dog bin at the park.
Please not no people were harmed during the production of this blog post lol.
