Pendulums are a popular tool often used for divination purposes. Pendulum divination is the art of using a pendulum to answer a question. The question is not just limited to yes or no, you can make an answer board with more specific answers.
These metal pendulums come in three colours and can be sent in one of two boxes, so please make sure you select the right one for you.
Step one: Center yourself. You can do this by simply breathing with the intention of letting the stress out.
Step two: Connect to the pendulum. Sit with your pendulum. Find a comfortable place for you to sit and begin to relax as much and you can. Hold the pendulum in your hand. Take a look at it. Respect it.
Step three: Establish a connection and identify your "Yes" and "No." You need to learn what your body's "yes" and "no" responses are. To establish this quickly, hold the pendulum 6 - 8 inches above the palm of your hand. Begin to ask simple yes/no questions that you know the answers to and see what the responses are. I like to say "My name is..." Take note of what happens for each response.
Step four: Ask your questions. This is the easy part, but you must keep in mind that the pendulum can only answer simple yes/no questions. If you ask something that isn't directly a yes or no, your answer won't be clear.
The Pendulum is generally considered to work on the "ideomotor response" principle (much like the Ouija Board). It is impossible for a person to remain completely still, therefore ever person even when trying to remain still will move a tiny amount. These tiny movements may not be very noticeable but are still strong enough to affect something you are dangling from a chain.
Although we know it is in fact the person moving the pendulum, this doesn't not mean they are doing it intentionally as involuntary movements are controlled by the unconscious mind.
The unconscious mind is responsible for controlling all the functions of the body we don't consciously think about, such as heart beat.
Psychic ability and more specifically channelling is said to come from the unconscious mind, in fact many magical practitioners say it is the unconscious mind which is responsible for our magic. If this is in fact true then it is safe to assume the tiny movements which control which way the pendulum swings could becoming from another source.
Many believe that spirits control the pendulum through you and through your hand. Others believe that it is not spirits which give the information but that humans are picking up the information from some kind of other worldly database or library which contains all knowledge (Akashic records).
